Nestled among the evergreens on the edge of a lake with mountains in the distance Lake Retreat and Conference Center is the perfect place to for RainyCamp! Great acoustics, good food, comfortable beds, warmth, and a weekend of song!
Okerson Lodge new to RainyCamp 2017.  60 beds, all lower bunk.  12 of 14 rooms have Adjoining bathroom.  Most rooms are gender specific. The meeting space overlooks the lake and seats 125.  This was a fantastic concert space we discovered in 2017!  Comfortable, great view over the water, good acoustics, casual space in back.  Coffee and Tea available.
Location—This is the fifth year at Lake Retreat in Ravendale, WA!  It is beautiful, has great acoustics, and offers paved walkways and comfortable sleeping facilities separated from the late night singing spaces. Lake Retreat offers great workshop space and accommodations with heat and individual bathrooms with showers, paved walkways.  The camp has Wi-Fi in most spaces.

  • Accommodations are rooms containing 2-8 bunk beds and many rooms also have at least one double or queen bed. Bunk beds all have ladders and the fabric covered mattresses are adult width and 5″ thick. Most rooms have private bathrooms and showers (except Lakeside cabins). There are  handicapped accessible rooms. Bedding is not provided.
  • New in 2017 is Okerson Lodge, 2 minutes walk from the Cafeteria.  This lodge has 60 beds, all lower and most rooms have an adjoining bath.  The lodge also has a beautiful meeting space overlooking the lake.
  • RV’s can be used for transportation, but you may not stay in them during camp.

Why RainyCamp?
We give you lasting memories of singing together in a casual beautiful setting.

Workshops — There are a number of scheduled workshops on Saturday and Sunday, and always space left for do-it-yourself ones. As RainyCamp is an offshoot of Seattle Song Circle, most are in song circle format (participants take turns to lead, request, or pass), but some may be presentation or teaching. Subjects in past years have ranged from Celtic, Sea Shanties, Bawdy and Parodies to Gospel, French-Canadian and Songwriting. A materials allowance of $10 is available for workshop leaders. A small recording studio is also available.

Jamming — Although the primary focus of the weekend is singing, dancing and instrumental jams are common and space is available for them.

Recording Studio – If you want to make your own recording and burn it on a  CD, Kay Norr lounge has space for about 12 people comfortably (Many more for late night singsonging)

Friday Evening Song Circle — We kick off camp on Friday evening after the dinner with a big song circle. It is a very welcoming wonderful start to a weekend of singing. The Song Circle is held in the Chapel and some hardy souls will sing most of the night!

Saturday Evening Concert — Saturday evening after dinner, we hold a participant concert that goes most of the evening. People can sign up to perform solo or with other campers. The concert is followed with several song circles as well.

Meals —   All meals are catered by the staff at Lake Retreat. Meals are served buffet style and offer both omnivore and vegetarian fare. We can accommodate gluten free or dairy free. Note only one of these options.  (Please note that need on your registration form.) If you have special dietary needs beyond those you are welcome to bring along additional food.  Some Hilltop cabins even have a small refrigerator in the room. There are salad bars at lunches and dinners.

Friday dinner is an inexpensive catered meal that is $10 additional.  For those arriving later in the evening, we can box your meal and have it ready and waiting for you.

Children — Kids are always welcome, but must be supervised, and their parents are responsible for seeing that this is done. We have little scheduled so far in the way of specific kids’ activities—please indicate if you’d be interested in helping us develop some (e.g. nature walks, games, special music singing workshops for little ones, etc).
